Soundproofing tips for a home studio

We would all like to have a huge mansion with a full time studio, but unfortunately most of us are not that fortunate. Soundproofing is the secret to happy housemates!

It may sound like a bit of trouble but actually the advantages are not for everyone else. Definitely, you get the chance to keep people sweet, but a quality soundproof blanket for door will also have a huge effect on your tracks, as you will be insulated from undesired sound effects.

Think about how to treat the room you are using as your studio. Acoustic treatment will prevent distortion and reverberation time from negatively impacting your work. Be genuine! Although a room in a shared house is never going to be adequately isolated to remove all the bleed and a severe drum solo is always going to be hard to exist in this set up, it might not be the biggest or the most professional type of studio, but if you think professionally, you can substantially overcome many problems and keep everyone happy.

For the floor commence with a nice acoustic foam underlay, and then add a quality dense carpet on the top. Wooden effect flooring might look smart but won’t absorb sound between floors anywhere near also. For walls, go for sound cancelling curtains, and also blankets.

Noise reduction foam will control high frequencies and keep different kinds of sound reflections bouncing off the wall back into the microphone, creating what is known as an echo. While building a home studio, it is vital to get the right STC’s to get a controlled environment of the area.

It is likely that a home studio will always be some sort of compromise. You won’t get the same results as having a specialized room properly treated by a soundproofing professional, but these easy solutions will make a substantial difference.
