Sound blankets are great for soundproofing

This Christmas, my children have asked for some musical equipment. It appears the boys would like to try their hand in setting up their own garage band. I marveled how I could assist them pursue their interests without annoying the whole neighborhood with the sound of the musicians in training.

After doing a bit research and taking stock of the garage, it appeared as although industrial acoustic windows were the secret to making the band project work.

We decided to commence with some garage door installation to safeguard the children against drafts. This excellent product has a reflective finish, making it ideal to reflect the heat from the ceramic wall heaters we plan on adding back into the space. Next we bought some sound blankets.

Sound barrier walls have long been used to restrict the amount of noise that can be heard within the cavity of the building. Equipments which are used in building sites and factories include heavy machinery and forklifts. They amount of power they use is immense and may be overpowering for their operators. Noise barrier walls are installed to control the amount of sound that goes out of the room.

Safeguarding the hearing of those that work with industrial machinery is the main use of sound barrier walls and should be the priority of any staff.

One of the additional sound curtains work as furniture cover for our unsightly friend, the mattress left over from our college days. I doubt there will be tennis shoes and soda pop all across the futon and the blanket will keep it looking better and longer. There you have it. Next time your pre-teens go looking for their musical soul, don’t sweat it. Just pick up sound blankets and get ready to bask yourself.
